The city falls in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is about 121 kms
away from the city of Agra. The ancient capital of Gwalior has been
under the influence of different Hindu dynasties. The rulers of

The memorial of freedom fighter Rani Laxmibai stands in the city of
Gwalior near Phool Bagh. Laxmibai, a great leader breathed her last
here while fighting the British army.
Tomb of Tansen:
The tomb of Tansen was erected as a memorial to the father of
Indian classical music. The tomb is built in mughal architectural
style and is provided with a lush garden. The place has a tamarind
tree which is believed to be the reason behind Tansens beautiful
voice.
Jai Vilas Palace and Museum :
Jai Vilas Palace and Museum represents architectural brilliance and
a rich lifestyle as enjoyed by the pricely states. The structure has
some 25 rooms turned into Jivaji Rao Scindia Museum with great
collections.
Gujari Mahal :
Like Taj Mahal Gurjari Mahal is the monument of love Raja Mansingh
Tomar had for his queen Mrignayani. The monument has been converted
into museum and houses rare antiquities.
Ghaus Mohammed's Tomb :
The tomb represents the sandstone mausoleum of Afghan prince Ghaus
Mohammed. The tomb bears resemblance to the mughal architecture and
is provided with delicate screens.
Best Time to Visit :
The climate of Gwalior is extreme with summers touching the 45 C
scale and winters below 5 C. The best time to visit the place is
from October to March. The weather during this time is quite
pleasant.
Accessibility :
From Agra there is a regular bus service to Gwalior. Deluxe and
local buses bound for Gwalior can be boarded at Idgah Bus Station.
The two regions that is Agra and Gwalior are connected by rail
lines. Railways as such provide fast and easy access into the
region.
