Shahganj area lies towards the west of Agra's city center.
Shahganj area unlike the rest of Agra city is not intermeshed with
roads. The place is provided with few almost straight roads. The
township has no tourist attractions except a small park called
Subhash Park. The region like other commercial areas is adequately
provided with good roads and transportation, schools, hospitals,
educational institutes and good markets.
Shahganj area is further divided into smaller residential and
commercial regions. The township as such encompasses smaller
localities like Bhogipura, Prakash Nagar, Gyaspura, Panchkuiyan,
Ashok Nagar, Arjun Nagar, etc. The area called Rui Ki Mandi has been
popular for amenities like bed covers and quilts.
Some of the attractions in the area include Indian Club, Kajal
Restaurant and Bar, Subhash Park and Sangita Cinema.
Accessibility
- Shahganj can be accessed by boarding a bus from Idgah Bus
Stand or from city center. Fatehpur Sikri Road and Saiyad Ali
Nabi Road connects Shahganj with Agra mainland.
- Idgah Railway Station is the nearest and only few kilometres
from Shahganj.
- Agra Airport lies to the south-west of Shahganj and is about
4.5 kms from the place.
